Did your backup run last night? How do you know?

It is crucial to keep backups of everything nowadays because everything is becoming computerized. Data keeping, record filing, everything is being done with the help of computers and therefore if we do not keep backups then we practically, literally lose all data that is important for us. Banks will lose their client data base, records of all transactions and things like that. Therefore back up is absolutely necessary.

However, how will you know if your machine has run the necessary back up or not? After all machines are meant to be faulty and what if it has not and by a sudden chance all your data is lost? Well, to stop you from getting this headache what you need is a good back up scheme or really the best scheme possible. Something that won’t forget to backup even when you do. if you use a good back up plan then it will only cost you thirty seconds of your precious time and everything will be saved.

The best backup would really be something which would do something more than the normal conventional backup of data only. It would be something which would require the user to out the least amount of time involvement in the process and will also get off-shore backups for any data.

This just means that there should be something to run on its own, which will keep updates, recorded and will also help access the stored data easily.

This would be just another backup scheme which will mean that your files are backed up every single day unlike many other backup plans where back ups are performed at regular intervals of a few days and not every day. The basic advantage of having the backup run every day is that every single little bit of information that you have changed or entered etc in your system gets updated and therefore you have a copy elsewhere which you can easily access.

But how does this backup happen?

Well, the files which have to be made a backup are at first made into a single one by a process of combing. Now, these files are compressed to keep them intact after which they will be encrypted. Only after encryption is done is the combined file protected with the help of a password.

After this whole process the file is marked with the time and date and sent off for safekeeping, while the original copy is kept local. Then you can just schedule the computer to run backups and rest peacefully while all your work is done and all the time you have to spend behind this is only a few seconds.

The safest way of course to ensure that your backups run every night, is to have them reviewed daily, if not more frequently. This would be the job of a good Computer Consultant, IT Support Provider or MSP. With the proper monitoring tools, they will be able to receive notification immediately upon a failed backup event and notify you instantly.
